Smoggy Sunday

One of the few drawbacks to living in this part of the world is the pollution we get at this time of year and until someone in power takes this seriously, I just don't see an end to it.

Not that I know a way to rid the world of this blight, it would take an international effort really and I fear nations are too embroiled in their own politics to act.

Maybe a new program of Royal projects that helped change the commerce from drugs to such cash crops as coffee and strawberries would help, who knows?

But, with a need to get some gentle exercise after the sciatic layoff so I donned the PM2.5 mask and got on the old lady-bike.

Just to give you an idea Sunday was worse than the Saturday and that was pretty bad.

With some news channels reporting Chiang Mai as the worlds most polluted city.

I don't think that was the case but if the TV says it is, a sizeable proportion of the population, including my wife who always looks after me insisting I have my mask on, believe it to be so 😯.

A cycle ride wouldn't be a cycle ride without Relive now would it.

Did you see the snap of the grass-stack at the junction? The green policy comment was a bit of a tongue in cheek dig at the initiative of checking vehicles for pollutants. Commendable yes but there are bigger problems in this part of the world at this time of the year. To give to an idea of just how visible the pollution is here is the original snap of the grass-stack and a crop of the lop left corner...
Smog be blowed 😷I had a nice cycle, a good chat and coffee with my friend Charlie Farley and his relatives and of course, I got the sticky rice for Mrs T!

After a video chat with my sister I was ready to enjoy a nice roast dinner at the Red Lion, with my sciatic problem and schedule I had not enjoyed one of these feasts for over 3 weeks 😭.
So off I set on a little stroll, surprisingly recorded on Relive.
The Iron bridge over the river Ping can look rather good at this time of night so out came the phone to take a snap or two. The phone however, on auto setting, tends to try and capture lot of light making the photo much lighter than it is.

But with a bit of ACDSee magic it is possible to take it back towards how it really looked.
And for this shot I went to manual settings:

Once at the Red Lion I (of course) enjoyed a terrific Sunday roast, and it wouldn't be me if I didn't post a tweaked snap of it would it 😋.
Coffee.
