A Fab Family Friday

Pin's daughter and family are here with us for the long holiday weekend. Our granddaughter is 6 months old now and I can't believe how much she has grown.

Who is this strange foreigner her face may be saying ๐Ÿ˜

Anyway having enjoyed some rather nice Thai lunch in the local boat-noodle place of we went on a hike up Doi Ngom.

Although on a decent road it can be very steep in places but I cant yet find a way to demonstrate just how steep a road is on a photo and we were only progressing at just over 2km/hr.

Even so there were some great views

The walk was supposed to be quite short but we had set out mid afternoon and at 2.7km into the walk it was clear that getting to the chedi and back in daylight may be a problem so the older members of the team decided to stop there.
But the young army son in law decided to jog on...
๐Ÿ˜ฎ
If you are wondering where the Chedi is, here it is...
What? cant see it?

Returning home it was a quick shower and change ready to go and experience the light show at Sankamphaeng Hot Springs.

We should have set off earlier as with 2.5km to go we hit an huge traffic jam and it took us 45 minutes to do just over 1km.

We abandoned the car just off the road and set out walking.

Fortunately we soon came to a car park with a shuttle van to take us the final way.

Once there we took in the lights, so here is a little video I prepared earlier...

The original plan had been to see the lights, grab a bite in the venue and then return home but to be honest the food on offer didn't excite my appetite and the place was so busy tables were just not free.

So we set off back, but it was getting late so where could we go that we know would be serving a tasty meal...

Yep the Red Lion ๐Ÿ˜‹.

Lovely.
