Per Magica Ad Astra

 Late September 2024 and the floods that have blighted  many areas of Thailand came to the city of Chiang Mai. The city has been hit quite badly with the river Ping exceeding its banks in many placed resulting in floods largely in the east of the city. Further away from the river the areas are very much less effected but there is still flooding due largely to the pooling of rainfall. After days of not being able to walk the routes I wanted to, I purchased a pair of wellies and set out to check the water levels on the roads. I had intended to maybe even see the city area but the wellies were not that comfortable and I felt it prudent to take a shorter route. This is that shorter route, by no means a badly flooded as the area where the river has overspilled but causing disruption and some hardship even in these less effected areas.

 Last week my friend Charlie and I took the local train on a grey day to Lampang. Of course I went so I could make another attempt at a vlog. Along the way you pass through Khun Tan tunnel. So here is a little YouTube of passing through it.

 This has been doing the rounds, I have tried to up the resolution here but also have to compress (a lot) to fit it on't blog I'll si thi.

 Hello and here is just a little ramble on stuff that sparked a little interest in me over the last few days and as I want to bung a few photos on, the blog has to be a better format than Facebook which will get a copy anyway😁 Lets start about mentioning the sunset viewed down Thapae road on Thursday, and I put one you may recall, on Facebook but, I missed the better shot as I was in desperate need of a P. Here is the one I managed to show; And here is the better one taken by Charlie; And since I am on the subject of photos we were talking about the rather good capability to focus on near object with the phones camera so just to show you what I am talking of I snapped a shot of the rice included with my meal that night. I bet that has you licking your lips and thinking chicken vindaloo and a pint of lager😋 The  other thing that I wondered was down to an event on a little walk yesterday lunchtime. The walk was just to the supermarket and as I approached the checkout I bashed into the

 Some 15 months ago one of our little granddaughters called to say hello bringing gifts in the form of 2 small, rather young tortoises. It seems they are now ours and so, as a part of their keep, they are required to act in some of my oskar nominated videos.

 Early September 2024 and I managed to get my self into gear, onto the Burg and up to the wonderful Mae Kuang Dam in Chiang Mai for a very hot but most enjoyable walk across the dams and around the road.
